Pip Berry
Posted in Ribbons | No Comments »Crafters ~ Question about Twig wreaths?
Ok, I tried to bring out my crafty side. I want a crown branch new in our living room, but they are so expensive already decorated. I had a great crown of $ 9.99. I want to decorate it with fruits pips and rusty stars. The stars, I'm pretty sure I can just Hot Glue on. Should I do the same thing for pip berries? What Garland as best to buy to decorate a wreath. Thank you pour votre aide.
I guess the berries are attached to stems ... hope that is correct. The best way to attach them would be if the stems are flexible son, just paste them in and wrap the crown around the stem of a branch crown. Have a small needle nose pliers on hand to help you pull the thread through small holes. Leave a space of thread between the bay and where you start packing, at least one quarter inch, you can bend it back and use the berries to hide the stem. Another way to reach them, as well as string or a host of other things, was the son of flowers. It comes pre-cut pieces or on a pallet. If you've never used before, I would start with a template smaller than the thickness of the wire because it is easier to fold and you can always turn one or two pieces together to get a thicker wire, if you need it. You can find the thread of flowers in the flower section of a craft store, including crafts section of Wal-Mart. It is green mixtures so well in many designs and you can use to create a rod for bay if they have not already. As for garlands keep your options open! You can simply use some wired ribbon and thread throughout, with a bow on the bottom or hanging ribbons (wire flowers or hot glue might also be used to attach a ribbon). Artificial greens such as ivy and woud work. My advice would be to wire as much as possible and use as little glue as possible. This way, if you ever get tired of the colors or decorations, you can re-do without having to buy a new crown or a store the former, well, sometimes hot glue will be more difficult to hide the wire - such as the tape - you can see the hot glue "spot" on the mixtures Flat cable, but very good. If you use lots of glue, it will be much harder to fix something once you step back and watch. I redid my Christmas wreath as five times - it is now one of my favorite things to do each holiday season. I used wire to attach ornaments, ribbons, Pine Cones, and all sorts of things. I've never used glue on it, and it is always kept well together. Good luck and enjoy!
