My Ariens 24 "snowblower is very low in the opposite direction?

Snowblowers I used also seemed this way. I could always Pul back faster than what would power itself. I think that was intentional. My thought was that the inverse is voluntarily much lower so that you are not able to get any sort of speed up, just in case the operator would lose their footing. In this case, the machine would have some momentum and would be unlikely to run the pilot. Consult your owner's manual to see if there is no mention of this as as a safety device.
