What causes my eyes change from green to blue or yellow?

I noticed my eye color changes a lot. Usually, I green eyes, but the other day I looked at my eyes and they were extremely Light Yellow with a green rim. That lasted two weeks. About two weeks ago, my friend asked me if I had blue eyes. Anyone watching me would have thought they were blue. These changes are very frequent and vary depending on their duration. Am I doing something to cause this change or is it just a natural thing with no cause? I am extremely curious and would be grateful for a reply.

Your eyes do not change color. What has changed is the ambient light that you are in color, after all, a reflection of light.
