actually they r with the solutions but im not understand at all.
i type the q and the ans.if they match with wat u do,please work out and show me how to do it.
1.find the mass of water that fills 2/3 of a bucket with capacity 15 l.
Ans: 10 kg
2.an ancient coin made of gold weighs 11.58 g.find volume.
Ans:0.6cc
3.rectangular sheet of cork weighs 25cm*20 cm and has thickness of 1.5cm if weight =150 g,find the density of the cork.
ans:200 kg/m3.
the thing in all these q is that in all of them they just bring in 10^ -3 or 10^ -6 and all frm no where.imm really annnoyed &tomorrow is a test on these thingd.

1. Mass of 2/3rd of bucket of water containing 15L
Imagining cutting the the bucket from above so that 2/3rd of it remains. Then 2/3rd of 15L of water will remain.
2/3rd of 15L of water = 2/3 x 15 L = 10L
So now you have to find mass of 10L of water.
You can calculate mass of 10L of water if you know mass of 1L of water, and multiply it by 10. Mass of 1L of water is called the density of water which is nearly 1.
By definition, Density = Mass of substance/ Its volume
Density of water = 1Kg per Litre or 1Kg/L
So mass of 10 L of water is: (Mass of 1 L of water) x 10
= Density of water x 10
= 1Kg/L x 10L
= 10Kg (Note that the unit L got cancelled)
2. You will use formula of density again.
Here, mass = 11.6g, density of gold = 19.3g/cc
Now, Density = Mass/Volume
19.3g/cc = 11.6g/Volume
Volume = 11.6g / (19.3g/cc)
= 0.60cc (observe that unit of mass got cancelled)
3. Multiply all three dimensions of the cork you specified to obtain its volume.
Volume = 25cm x 50 cm x 1.5cm = 750cm^3 = 0.00075m^3
(bcoz, 1 cm^3 = 0.000001 m^3 = 10^-6 m^3, learn these conversion factors)
Mass = 150g = 0.150 Kg
Knowing Volume and mass simply use density formula like above.

1cm^3 = (0.01m)^3 (since 1cm = 0.01m)
= 0.00001m^3 (cubing both the no. and unit)
= 10^-6 m^3
Also remember that 1L = 1000cm^3
