Decorative Glass

I've got a glass vase, which is in a round bowl sort of shape, milling around my house and I want to put it to some use so I thought I could try and make it look decorative and stylish at the same time without using it as your average vase. I would like some help as to what I could try pleease!!
The choice is endless
pebbles
Glass Beads
flowers (living and fake)
buttons
Sea Shells
Pine Cones
pot puree
paper clips
crazy bones (children's toys)
anything Multi Colored and attractive
if it reflects the light it will look nice and you could also pick out certain colors
so with the paper clips you could have just red and blue ones in the bowl
or put fairy lights in the vase around what ever you choose so when night falls it adds an extra boost of color
