How can I get rid of the gunk on the glass bottles that you get when you remove the label?

You know ... when you remove the label of the bottle of Snapple, that annoying, nasty, dark glue shit .. Is this a bad idea to reuse glass bottles?

If you use a dishwasher ... put the bottle in the dishwasher with dish soap, and obtaining the sticky stuff from the bottle. If you do not have a dishwasher just Emerse the bottle with the label in a big bowl of soapy water for night.
