Hey I live in Alaska and I want to know if I am too far north to successfully raise Guinea hens.
Not sure where you live in Alaska at Fairbanks, but I know how many people keep all sorts of birds, chickens, ducks, during the winter. The link you've been given is good info. But for the best local advice contact the Department of Co-Operative Extension Service near you, they will know exactly what to do to succeed. Here is the info desk Fairbanks http://www.uaf.edu/ces/ local news made a difference as you do not have knowledge that the heat lamps, but the lights on cycles days miscarriages if you want to produce eggs and how to use a hot oil pan for a system to keep your water trough from freezing. they can also offer advice on building a good decision building that can withstand the cold, and have the right type of ventilation and insulation.
