How do you install a flag pole holder into plastic wood that's hollow?

Usually the column's that you drill four holes into your banner flag pole holder are made of solid wood on the front porch. Mine is hollow and it's plastic.

Try using a slightly smaller wooden dowel in the center of your pole. Then you have some reinforced material to screw into.
