Cheap colored paper to draw on?

I want to draw on, and grayscale paper with charcoal and pastel color. However, all paper I see is sold by the sheet to more than $ 1 a sheet 18 X 24! Strathmore had blocks of colored paper, but the price was too high. Canson Colorline Art Papers are a bit cheaper, but seem to be tougher for the craft and less to the drawing. Can anyone recommend some drawing paper color, possibly in the form of a spiral sheet, which is profitable for someone who wants to experiment with drawing over color? Colors interests me most are muted earth tones, blues and discrete grayscale.

For purely experimental papers Canson rough 'll give you some interesting textures to play with more color tests. colored paper for children, often found in grocery stores and many other businesses will be fine. Once you decide you want your work to go to another level of quality, you will need to start buying the most expensive journals. These surfaces provide a better texture for smooth or rough, more durable works of art, and much less discoloration of the final product. Also, I must say if you can find all Canson paper (one name on the top paper of artists) to just over $ 1 each, you've found a real steal! My watercolor paper 16 "X22" is $ 10 to $ 15 per sheet.
