how big (in milimetres) are size 11 seed beads?
because I've ordered seed beads which say they're a size 11 but i don't know if they'll fit on the elastic I've got (the elestic is 0.5mm thick)

the size on seed beads generally means how many will fit in an inch. Size 11 are very small and are usually strung on nylon thread. you want more like size 6 or 8 for .5mm elastic.
