Army basic training, how to obtain shoe/boot inserts for arch support?

During the physical at MEPS, I've read if a person has low arch's or flat feet they'll be given authorization to obtain shoe/boot inserts? Just wondering if they automatically authorize this after examining the feet or if you have to ask for them? Thank you

You go to sick call and see the medics or go to the PX and buy some. Either way.
