Snowflake Ornament

My snowflake eel, now about 18 inches long and about an inch in diameter, escaped his tank about a week and a half ago. We found him on the floor, he was still alive so we placed him back in his tank. He kind of freaked out for awhile, and then calmed down. He stayed on the bottom of the tank for about 4 days, and then moved into his usual spot, curled up inside the hollow part of an aquarium ornament. He's been poking his head out, but we can't get him to eat his usual food. Its been a week and a half so we're quite worried. Any suggestions?
That's really not too long for a moray to go without food, they are just built for it better than many other fish. I would suggest trying to tempt hm with fresh shrimp, oyster etc... that just might bring him out of it.
