How lenses in yellow or amber goggles help increase the clarity?

Glasses, I refer are often used in shooting ranges, paintball, and construction.

Although your brain filters it out normally, the human eye has a good amount of chromatic aberration. The Light Blue and violet, in particular tend not to achieve a sharp focus, so it adds filtering to visual acuity. At greater distances, it also helps cut the mist, like the short wavelengths (blue end of the spectrum) are spread over longer wavelengths.
