Will my songs be lost if I replace my iPod screen?

My 5th generation iPod video screen is cracked and I ordered a replacement screen and tools for that. I watched a few instructional videos and confidence that I can do myself. But I need to know if my hard drive will be emptied once I disconnect all the ribbon cables between the headrest and the player .. I prefer to leave that broken loose all my data.

This happened to me and a friend! No, you're perfectly safe, do not worry not. There is virtually no way to screen for interfering with the hard drive. Hopefully I helped! (:
