Finding Stampings

I have an engine that I need identified. I was "told" the block is from a 1985 Chevy S10, however the engine is a Vortec 4.3L V6 that was not used until at least 1988 S10s. Here are all numbers and stampings I can find on the engine: I 266 14093683 2368 GM 4.3 LG SG1 177N19 These were mostly found on the back of the engine block, just behind the distributor. The engine was developed for another application and currently has an Edlebrock manifold, Holly Carb, and electric water pump. Everything else was stripped from it. How do I know that this engine was originally, and I need to rebuild what I need to get parts for?
Talk to your local Chevrolet friendly - it can look in the book! He still could have been installed by someone (Thought it would truck "warmer")! When buying parts from the supplier of parts - This information allows you to get the right parts (if it can read the book of pieces)! Local salvage yard will book exchange, and can give you that information as well (if are friendly enough) - these people are not all like they were in the "old days"!
