Hello everyone, I have a huge problem. Let me start by giving you the context. Initially, I had a flat coat of paint on the walls of my kitchen. On Sunday, I painted with paint satin and the color was horrible (orange). I let it dry for a day and last night (Monday) we decided to get another color (Fisheries) and paint over it. While we were painting, painting (which is also satin) began to dry too quickly, within 10 minutes and when I tried to do retouching, painting began as a separate film. My question is, can I paint satin on satin? or was it a bad batch of paint or do I use too much paint on the roller? This morning, the paint looks horrible and I'm not sure to sand the bad areas and to large a coat on areas or get another batch of paint? I have never seen the paint to dry quickly and the temperature in the house was exactly the same on both nights (76 degrees). what are the recommended steps? Thank you!
Sometimes, a new coating of a pain in the neck, especially these days when every-one of them paint to dry as quickly as possible. There's this thing called Floetrol which is basically a paint thinner latex which also slows the drying process that helps a lot. But yes, you can paint over satin satin. Were you using the line Aura by Benjamin Moore? You can not touch this stuff at all once it until it is completely dry or you're screwed. Many times kitchen walls should be washed first if you want to use the kitchen for cooking, but it's a little late for that, eh? You can try sanding on zones, but you must pay attention to your sandpaper (How to use too) because the latex paint w / things will melt into the paper and once blocked the paper just end up making more of a mess w / her. Once you have a smooth surface (This could end up taking the mud wall spackle or dry) prime patches and try again. I have been painting 4 years and only recently I found myself adding Floetrol wall paint And it does help. Good luck.
