Posted in Ribbons | No Comments »Is there a flower called "Japanese enemy"it grows to about 3`-4` tall little leaves and a small pink flower
If so how would I grow them ?
Japanese anemone is a valuable plant for the garden. Common name 'windflower'.
Princess Charlotte is the pink form, a very nice white semi double is 'Whirlwind'.
They flower from August through to October and can withstand very light frosts so if we have a mild autumn they will go on and on.
Make sure you plant them exactly were you want them to be because they have very deep roots, once they are established they are easy to move but difficult to get rid of in the original space, they will just keep on coming up.
They do tend to 'walk' through the border as well so keep an eye on them.
Plant with other perennials that either flower late or hold their flowers into the autumn such as Verbena bonariensis, Acanthus spinosa, Helenium, Dahlia, Monarda, Salvia and Rudbeckia.
