Posted in Ribbons | No Comments »I have no art/drawing experience - can I still pass a drawing class?
I'm in college and I want to MINOR in Art with a concentration in photography. However, for some odd reason all art courses require art 101 which at my university is life drawing. I can't draw -I'm still on stick figures, but I need this class before I can proceed to other art classes of photography and I really want this minor.
If I take the class do you think it would be difficult for a non-drawer to turn out decent work?
You probably won't be the only person with no drawing experience in that class. "serious" artists (no offense) will probably already have taken AP Art in high school and have that requirement taken care of.
I would talk to the TA and let them know you're going to focus on photography and have no drawing experience and they will probably understand. They will probably also assign a beginning drawing type of book to teach you fundamentals.
Don't give up on it. If you try hard you'll probably do fine.
