I will have 16 tables at my reception. My theme is vintage French. I praise 8 decorated with large chandeliers brass hanging crystals half the tables and was planning on topiary green for the other 8. Do you use the candelabras on all 16 tables would be overkill? Our site is a private place full of antiques from France, mirrors ornate and tall windows that look out on gardens lush. Very fancy vintage great looking place. I Chavara gold chairs and towels Demask gold over ivory. Therefore, will be 16 candelabra too or really go with vintage theme? (I'm not a big fan of flowers due to allergies, and I'm afraid of silk) Help wives and decorators out there if you please. The poles are so tall, you can see fine talking to people. They are like 24 "tall ... actually I think they could be more like 32 " height. You can see fine with them before you. 
I agree with your first idea, and have them on only half of tables and having a topiary Nice half toher. That sounds awesome, and I thought for my wedding!
