If I replace a cpu pin- should I use stranded or solid copper wire?

I am going to stuff some wire into the socket- however I believe I have solid wire, should I use solid or stranded?

If it is a signal pin rather than a power line neither is likely to work. At the speeds modern computers operate there's no such thing as a simple wire. Instead, they need to be treated as transmission lines which have very exacting properties to prevent reflections on the signal path. A simple wire connection will _not_ have the right properties.
