Is this the best I can have?
By the sounds of things it is a component cable that you have plugged in. That is Red, Green and Blue for the picture components and probably a red and black or red and white phono for the sound as component does not carry sound hence the separate audio cable.
It all depends what the device that is on the other end of these cables supports. If its a dvd player or something and does not have a HDMI output then sticking with these component cables is probably your best bet. A HDMI cable does remove a lot of clutter and in some cases improve picture quality. (But this is dependent of what device it is)
